No such thing as 'can't' – Crane delivery at Microsoft in Munich

Our White Glove Delivery Service is more than just a simple delivery. It involves the careful and secure transport of goods and delivery to the desired room within the customer's building. This service sometimes presents unique challenges, as demonstrated by a special delivery for Microsoft in Munich.
The item being transported was a 'Proto Epic', which had to be delivered from the USA to Microsoft's EMEA Experience Centre in Munich. The Proto Epic is an oversized screen capable of providing a realistic, volumetric, holographic display in real-time and life-size. The shipping crate for the Epic was over 240 cm high and weighed over 360 kg.
After a partner company organised safe transport from the USA, CCS-Express handled customs clearance and all the necessary import formalities.
The Proto Epic's destination was the fourth floor of the Microsoft building in Munich. After an initial inspection, it became clear that due to the size of the unit, neither the lift nor the staircase could be used for delivery. Alternatives had to be explored, with the primary concern being to avoid damaging the sensitive technical equipment.
The decision was made to use a crane for the delivery. After CCS-Express had coordinated the delivery with everyone involved, hired the crane company and dealt with all the relevant issues, including insurance, the moment arrived. The crane lifted the box containing the Proto Epic over the building and, with no direct line of sight, carefully placed it on the fourth-floor terrace by radio. But there were still obstacles to overcome: The unit had to be carefully manoeuvred through a double-glazed window into the building, lifted over an additional step, and then gently placed into the final room.
Once inside, staff installed the equipment and confirmed that everything was working perfectly. The Proto Epic Delivery project was successfully completed to the satisfaction of all involved.
